Halo Buster Stops In-Game Cheating|
The HaloStats Launcher/Buster is an improved substitute for the built-in "Internet Lobby", allowing you to join games from the halostats site by looking up a server, or finding a player and then clicking on the launcher icon. By entering your valid forum login and password in the settings, the program will certify that your system does not have any known hacks running while you are playing.
Most people who start joining games with the launcher never go back. Clans can put links on their websites with halo:// followed by the direct connect IP and visitors can launch directly from their web-sites. I often just go look at the member list, or server list of the clans I am interested in and launch from there.
Version 2.6 is perfect enough to be considered final. There is no detectible lag while running it, you can hit ctrl-f12 while in a game and watch for performance spikes, there are none. And the initial hit you feel sometimes after changing maps is nearly undetectible. There will be an optional 2.7 release to address a problem with the recent Halo patch that will only benefit users joining CE games.
There has been a lot of mis-information posted in other forums about the buster, which seem to be construed from a bias against using any form of anti-cheat in Halo while knowing full-well that very nasty hacks are available to anybody who looks.
